No policing of late night noise

Aug 6, 2024by Margaret Conquest
The organization of camp sites was much better this year. However, it’s time for people to grow up and respect their neighbors. It’s close quarters and you can’t tell me 99% of the campers don’t know about respecting quiet time rules. There are some pretty ballin rigs and these people have camped before. It’s not their right to be loud after the quiet hours and the campground managers should’ve policed that strictly. I feel for any tenters that were subjected to this juvenile partying attitude. This was a HUGE detractor. Except for this, I was relatively pleased with the festival camping this year.

$15 penalty is BS.

Aside from the rain storm - it went pretty well - although the sound problem during 54:40 happened WELL BEFORE any significant rain. Additionally, would it have been that hard to have some volunteers go out into the audience to let everyone know what was going on? - and how long they should wait around? I hope you would consider some kind of refund or discount on future events for the affected attendees (the sunday night show was a big reason we decided to attend). The one thing I recommend you drop immediately is the scheduled check-in for camping. What a load of crap. I got charged a $15 penalty for not booking a a scheduled check in on time. I tried to schedule one but we didn't know our travel plans until a couple days before and the online window had closed. Isn't the point of a reservation - that it is held for you to show up at your convenience? My other big issue with this is that travel arrangements for larger out-of-town groups are difficult to manage. When people will be able to get off work, who needs to go to the washroom or eat during the trip, road closures, traffic, accidents - the list goes on and on. This policy seems like complete BS to me and I would like an explanation. And please don't give me any crap about how - "it makes the check-in go smoother. It was the same as previous years. I had friends who showed up on time and had significant waits to check-in and others who missed their check-in time due to an accident by Red Deer and they got charged too. So how does that work? This seems like a ____ing money grab, plain and simple. And whoever instituted this scheduled check-in policy should be ashamed and the money should be refunded.

Great camping experience but loud neighbours

This was so much better organized and laid out compared to last year, and I appreciate the work that went into making it all come together. The shuttles were often and the volunteers were happy to help. The only concern was the noise after midnight in Countryside...it went until 2-3:30 am with excessive loud music from a few campers. Realizing this is a music festival and a party weekend, but there is also a campground to host the late nighters. There did not seem to be awareness or someone to let know about this...and when they are camping near it was frustrating. Everything else was great though.
