Disappointing Beach Access

Aug 15, 2023by Anonymous
I have visited this campground many times in the past and it has always been the perfect retreat from the everyday. I went to visit the beach by the river and the parking lot that has easy access to the best swimming has been restricted. Parking is a hike away and the rock higher up in the river are sharp and hard to navigate. It is so hard to drag the gear that helps make the river fun with little ones. Everyone should have easy access. I believe Archie and Janet Hogg donated the land for the park so everyone can enjoy it. Please change it back and make the river fun again.

Sorry you’re disappointed with the changes. Unfortunately, for safety reasons the change was necessary. If people had been able to respect the posted speed and respect the space a little better, this might not have happened. The river is still accessible, we’re sorry it’s not as convenient for you as it once was.

Wonderful site away from the city bustle

A&JHP was a wonderful getaway, a nice clean place, friendly staff, and a literal stone's throw from the Highwood River. I *will* be back! No cell service onsite, but only 5 minutes back up the road will get you connected, which was actually a glorious place to watch the sunrise
