Great location!

The location of Vezeau Beach Campground is excellent. Right along Moose Lake and within east walking distance to the tourist information center and main pier. Full service sites with fire pits and many back on to the Lake making for wonderful views especially at sunset. Nice biking/hiking trails right from the campground. The only drawback is it’s along a major highway and sometimes the traffic noise can be annoying.

Love this Campground

Jul 11, 2021by Bonnie Hauch
Had our first stay at this lovely campground this week. Our camping stall was among the nicest I've stayed in and I've stayed in a lot! It was nice and private and large, very nicely set up. They have a great park for kids, showers, laundry and a beautiful dock and boat launch. On the down side, no potable water, fire pits are too high, you can't see the fire unless you are right up to it and a berm should be built to offset road noise from the highway, otherwise it's a dream!!

Nice Sites

We were pleasantly surprised how private the site was. I would give 5 stars, but we were disappointed that the pathway along the water from the campsites was closed. Good value.

Beautiful little Campground

Jul 27, 2020by NIKKI CLOUTIER
This campground is nicely situated with sites right along the shore of Moose Lake with a giant dock, 5 minutes from Bonnyville. Full services which was great especially during COVID. Staff keep the campsite well maintained and clean and wood is decently priced, dry and burns good. The downside of this campground is that it literally sits next to the highway which is loud and busy so you hear vehicles, semi trucks and diesel trucks all day and night. The playground was under construction so my kids were pretty disappointed with that and the lake had blue-green algae blooms so they couldn't swim either so that made our trip a bit less fun. The beach is non-existent this year too due to the high water levels. We drove to Whitney Lake about 40 minutes away to go to the beach one day and that was fun. We also rented a boat for 3 days from L&D marine located right next to the campground and they were awesome to deal with. All around a good campsite but next time we will pick somewhere a bit quieter.

NICE Campground

The full service at this camp ground was nice, however - ensure you have a extension hose or you will have to back into the trees at some sites just to reach the sewer outlet. The camp ground is close to an amazing boat dock that is great for shore fishing! The campground is very small which allows your kids to venture out on bikes with no worries; my only slight complaint is the campground is so close to the main highway you will here constant traffic. The wood is priced at a great price of only 12$ a wheelbarrow! ; STAFF ARE VERY NICE and helpful! ; so close to the nice town of Bonnyville. I can't wait to return (Site #4 is the one I will book next time)

Nice Break

A smaller campground on the lake shore not five minutes away from Bonnyville. Full service on clean campsites. Wood wasn a bit expensive, all else was very nice. Very nice, courteous staff.

M.D. CAMPGROUND REGULATIONS DURING COVID-19

As we move into the second stage of resuming business in Alberta, and in order to keep our campers and staff safe and healthy as possible during the global pandemic, there have been a number of changes to our campground regulations.

Following Alberta Health Services,  all Municipal District of Bonnyville owned/operated campgrounds will be implementing changes, this includes opening up tent sites, outhouses, fish cleaning stands, beaches, and day use areas. Playgrounds are open for use, however not sanitized. All of these facilities are “use at your own risk”. Outhouses will be sanitized or cleaned as per provincial guidelines.

Campers will be responsible for their own water and sewer services. Our caretakers will have a list of contractors who will be able to fill up your water tanks and pump out your grey water.

  • If you aren’t feeling well, please stay home.
  • Campers are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer.
  • Site-to-site visits are discouraged, unless the site is occupied by immediate family members or cohort family as recommended by the Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health.
  • M.D. firewood sales will be available. Only credit or debit will be accepted as payment.
  • M.D. campgrounds will not be accepting cash or cheques until further notice.

As always, it is up to you, our visitors, to camp responsibly during this time of COVID-19. You must maintain a social distance of at least six feet at all times, including when gathering outside in groups larger than 10 people. Please remember to wash or sanitize your hands frequently.

The above are based on provincial guidelines, and the M.D. appreciates the cooperation of our campers in following these regulations. Failure to do so, could result in your expulsion from the campground.

Updates to these regulations will be communicated through our website and our Facebook page.
